Half back: how the AMS funds your training

Forklift licence, crane licence, C95 training or first aid course: for many employees, the AMS covers half of the course fees. Many companies do not know this and pay the full price. We show who qualifies and how the application works.

Who qualifies

Funding is available for fully insured employees, namely:

  • Women, regardless of age
  • Men aged 45 and over
  • Employees whose highest qualification is compulsory schooling

Apprentices, marginal employees, freelance employees and civil servants are excluded.

How much the AMS covers

The AMS pays 50 % of the course fees. For employees whose highest qualification is compulsory schooling, it also covers half of the wage costs for course hours that fall within paid working time.

Which courses qualify

The training must last at least 16 hours, in person or live online. Several courses can be combined in one application, for example three C95 modules or two crane types. At the BZL this applies to the training courses for Forklift operator and Crane operator, die C95 training, dangerous goods (ADR) and the Ersthelfer-Kurs.

How the application works

  • Your company needs an eAMS account for businesses. Only the company itself can submit the application.
  • We send you a quote with content, course times, number of hours and costs, exactly as the AMS requires.
  • You submit the application in eAMS at least one week before the course starts.
  • After the course, you upload the invoice, the confirmation of participation and the attendance list. You receive these documents from us. The AMS then pays out.

Does this apply throughout Austria?

The funding is based on a nationwide guideline, but the regional AMS offices may set their own rules. The AMS office of the federal state where your company is based is responsible.

Check in one minute

With our funding check, seven short questions show whether the funding applies to your course and roughly how much it is worth.

Check your funding

Important: our information and the funding check are an estimate, not a commitment. Whether and to what extent funding is granted is decided solely by the AMS.
